Ruvan Wijesooriya is an NYC-based artist whose work uses nature to explore time and space. Initially known for documenting the early 00’s music scene and bringing an edge to fashion photography, he eventually turned his lens to nature and the abstract. Ruvan’s work is in the crosshairs of art, science and spirituality, inspired by the nature of light.

Ruvan’s artwork is meditative and timeless when not perfectly fixed in the moment. In a career spanning over 20 years, he has helped redefine fashion brands for Burberry, Paul Smith and Roberto Cavalli, made cover art for acts ranging from LCD Soundsystem to Aziz Ansari. Ruvan has created nature and abstract photography portfolios for architects Renzo Piano and Richard Meier as well as Edition Hotels and The Hollywood Roosevelt. He is currently helping the Nuclear Energy Agency expand its arts and communications programming. Ruvan’s work has been shown internationally and published in countless magazines; he counts the legendary painter, Ed Ruscha, as a collector. Ruvan’s most recent books include New York City Rising (Hat and Beard) and Greetings From Sweden (Mondial). He helped organize and is featured in the book, Revolution is Love (Aperture).
