The characterizing element of the Berbère carpet is the complex manual technique used to work the wool, which recalls the traditional processes used for Berber-Moroccan carpets from the early 1900s. Each rug is spun and knotted entirely by hand on traditional vertical looms, and then finished with elaborate artisan techniques that give life to unique pieces, with their own identity. Specialized hands work the surface of the pile with scissors, so as to give the irregularities that distinguish each carpet, then proceeding with the typical designs and the side fringes woven one by one in the style of ancient Berber carpets. The black and white versions of the carpet are made with undyed wool, while the other colors are obtained from the use of vegetable dyes.
