From Thought to Form : Brainwave Manifested Sculpture. For this series. “The Form of a Thought,” Lans King creates a bespoke sculpture for each collector using their brainwaves. The artist captures the collector’s brainwave data via a brain-computer interface device as they focus on a specific word or thought of their choosing. The data is transformed into three-dimensional abstract digital forms using an algorithm developed by the studio. These abstract 3D forms are then produced as physical sculptures.

Product Details

Lans King is an interdisciplinary artist. He is also known as “The Artist from the Future” and the "Cyborg Artist". His ongoing project, “The Hyperreality Show”, blurs the lines between real & virtual, analog & digital, humanity & technology. This interconnected ecosystem of artworks includes paintings, videos, installations, sculptures, digital, and his signature canvas-screen hybrids. His work “Terms of Use” was recently curated for auction at Christie’s in New York.

In 2019, Lans surgically implanted an NFC microchip capsule in his hand and registered his artist self on the blockchain. It became the basis for his seminal work “(Network of) Self”, 2019 - Current. The microchip connects him to all of his works. Furthermore, it is linked to a series of digital artwork that will track his physical, emotional, and cerebral data for the remainder of his life. Collectively, these works are a data-generated self-portrait of the artist.

Lans King’s work was the subject of a recent BBC documentary “The Cultural Frontline”. He has also been covered in FlashArt, Artnet, Artsy, RightClickSave, Huffmag, FAD Magazine, DeCential, and Widewalls. His work has been acquired by some of the most important collectors and patrons. Lans is currently in talks for representation by one of the major global galleries.
